Mid Argyll Camera Club
2024 Frank Walton club entry
Club entry for the Frank Walton Competition, judged on Wednesday 13th March 2024 by Campbell Skinner (Greenock), organised by MACC in Lochgilphead.
Each club entered 12 images. Cowal CC won with 224/240, Oban CC 205, Carradale CC 200, Mid Argyll 190.
Five images received 20 marks.
The trophy was donated in 1981 by Frank Walton, the photographer who had the camera shop in Oban, for a new annual competition between Argyll & Bute clubs. Over the years it has included Cowal, Helensburgh, Mid Argyll, Oban, Carradale, Campbeltown/Kintyre, Three Villages/Arrochar, Peninsula, Mull and Bute. In 1981 MACC won against Oban and Mull, with 25 colour slides per club.
Between 10 and 25 images are entered by each club, from at least 5 different members with no more than 3 from each one.
The clubs take turns to organise the event in their home towns. The next competition will be organised by Cowal CC in March 2025.
