Mid Argyll Camera Club
2021 Frank Walton club entry
Club entry for the Frank Walton Competition, judged on Wednesday 10th March 2021 by Gordon McGowan (Dumbarton) on Zoom, organised by the Peninsula CC (Cove).
Scores: Cowal CC 165, Peninsula CC (Cove) 154, Mid Argyll CC 152, Carradale CC 152, Oban Photographic Club 149, Campbeltown CC 147. Each club entered 10 images, so maximum score was 200.
The trophy was donated in 1981 by Frank Walton, the photographer who had the camera shop in Oban, for a new annual competition between Argyll & Bute clubs. In 1981 MACC won against Oban and Mull, with 25 colour slides per club. The clubs take turns to organise the event in their home towns. The next competition will be organised jointly by Campbeltown and Carradale in March 2022.
The top image was “The Quiraing” by Neil Barlow of Cowal CC.
