Mid Argyll Camera Club

2022 Frank Walton club entry

Club entry for the Frank Walton Competition, judged on Wednesday 16th March 2022 by Di Burns FRPS, AFIAP and Mike Burns ARPS (Cambridge) on Zoom, organised by the Carradale CC.

Scores: Cowal CC 221, Campbeltown CC 214, Mid Argyll CC 209, Oban Photographic Club 208, Arrochar CC 197?, Carradale CC 200. Each club entered 12 images, so maximum score was 240.

The trophy was donated in 1981 by Frank Walton, the photographer who had the camera shop in Oban, for a new annual competition between Argyll & Bute clubs. In 1981 MACC won against Oban and Mull, with 25 colour slides per club. The clubs take turns to organise the event in their home towns. The next competition will be organised Oban in March 2023, hopefully in Oban rather than on Zoom.

The top image was “Old Westport Shipwreck” by ?? of Campbeltown CC, second was "Feather Display” and third was “Climbers” by Neil Barlow of Cowal CC.

See the 2018 Frank Walton rules, and the results of all FW competitions since 1980.

Some images may not be visible during club competition judging.
