Programme of events 2012/13

Meetings are on Wednesdays (except Thursday 24th January), and usually last from 7.00 to 9.30pm, with a refreshment break. Most are in the Community Centre, but some may be elsewhere.

We don't all actively participate every evening. But if you want to learn new skills hands-on, or hear comments on your photos (which should be helpful and constructive), the list below suggests what to bring if you can.

How to Judge or not to Judge - PAGB CD lecture by John Wigmore FRPS, EFIAP, MPAGB, APAGB

What a judge would be looking for from the images presented and also what not to say, followed by 2 halves of images and relevant comments; from John's long and highly acclaimed experience in judging at all levels. This is then followed by John marking each image out of 20, the images covering excellent, good, and not so good.

Christopher Kidd
Dr Christopher Kidd is a social anthropologist and professional photographer. Originally from Lochgilphead and now living in Uganda, he arrived here this week back for a 2 month holiday and has agreed to fill in for Dominic Ryan who had to be elsewhere. Chris will give us hints and tips on taking photographs, and also show us some of his work and give advice on planning a safari holiday to Africa.
